Mid silica fabric

Mid silica fabrics give superior protection from weld slag and welding sparks in hot work protection and meet military certificate specifications.

Product Description
Mid silica fabrics are high temperature fabrics used for a wide range of insulation and protection applications such as welding curtains, welding blankets and welding pads. It has silicon dioxidecontent around 70%. Mid silica fabrics can be fabricated into many forms to withstand continuous temperatures up to 800¡ãC  for various periods of time.

Mid silica fabric is the preferred choice in the thermal protection of equipment and personnel in high temperature applications. Mid silica fabric can withstand molten metal temperatures and can protect personnel and equipment at continuous temperatures up to 800¡ãC. Mid silica fabrics can be used for fabricated as welding drop cloths, stress relief blankets, protective screens/covers, furnace curtains, insulation mats and cable tray wraps. Mid silica fabrics are used extensively in the Power Generation (Nuclear Approved), Refinery, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Metal Processing industries.Mid silica fbarics cannot predict all of the potential applications for which customers may attempt to use the silica products. Silica products will have varying degrees of effectiveness for each potential application depending on the maximum temperature attained, the length of use, and the amount of temperature fluctuation. If the customer has any questions regarding the use of Mid Silica Products in a particular application, please contact us and we will provide a sample of the Mid Silica Products for testing. This product is not warranted against injuries or damages of any kind caused by uses for which this product was not designed, intended or tested by us.

*Welding Curtain is a heat resistant fabric designed to be placed directly in the vicinity of a hot work operation. Welding curtains are intended for use in vertical applications with light to moderate exposures such as that resulting from chipping, grinding, heat treating, sand blasting and light horizontal welding. They are designed to prevent sparks from escaping a confined area.

Notes:

1. Roll length is 50 yards, and roll width is 1000mm. Other roll lengths are available.

2. Silica fabrics can meet Military Specifications upon request.

3. A light hydrocarbon coating is applied for improved handling at low temperatures.

4. Silica fabrics are amorphous textiles, and contain no asbestos or ceramic fibers.
