Silicone coated silica fabric

TEXSil® Specialty Silica Fabrics are the preferred choice in the thermal protection of equipment and personnel in high temperature applications.

Product Description

The TEXSil® standard silica fabrics can be laminated with aluminized film or coated with silicone to obtain special performance properties. The aluminized film is primarily used for its thermal reflectivity and the silicone coated fabric is used for abrasion resistance. Both give gas and liquid impermeability. TEXSil® Silica Fabrics can be fabricated with grommets.

TEXSil® Silicone Coated Silica Fabrics for industrial application requiring a compromise of thermal protection and abrasion resistance properties.

*Welding blanket is a heat resistant fabric designed to be placed in the vicinity of a hot work operation. Welding blankets are intended for use in horizontal applications with light to moderate exposures such as that resulting from chipping, grinding, heat treating, sand blasting and light horizontal welding. They are designed to protect machinery and prevent the ignition of combustibles such as wood that are located adjacent to the underside of the blanket.

Notes:

1. Roll length is 50 yards, and roll width is 36 inches. Other roll lengths are available.

2. Silicone coating is applied to one side of the fabric. Silicone coating will lose 50% of its original elongation at 600¡ã F and some silicone polymer will start to degrade at that temperature.

3. Silica fabrics are amorphous fabrics, and contain no asbestos or ceramic fibers.
