TEXSil® Fire blanket

TEXSil® Silica fabrics give superior protection from weld slag and welding sparks in hot work protection and meet military certificate specifications.

Product Description
TEXSil® amorphous Silica fabrics are high temperature fabrics used for a wide range of insulation and protection applications such as welding curtains, welding blankets and welding pads. TEXSil® has a minimum silicon dioxide content of 96% for optimum performance. TEXSil® Silica fabrics can be fabricated into many forms to withstand continuous temperatures up to 1,800¡ãF (980¡ãC) for various periods of time.

Silica fabric is the preferred choice in the thermal protection of equipment and personnel in high temperature applications. silica fabric can withstand molten metal temperatures and can protect personnel and equipment at continuous temperatures up to 1,800¡ãF (1,000¡ãC). Silica fabrics can be used for fabricated as welding drop cloths, stress relief blankets, protective screens/covers, furnace curtains, insulation mats and cable tray wraps. silica Fabrics are used extensively in the Power Generation (Nuclear Approved), Refinery, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Metal Processing industries.TEXSil® silica fbarics cannot predict all of the potential applications for which customers may attempt to use the silica products. Silica products will have varying degrees of effectiveness for each potential application depending on the maximum temperature attained, the length of use, and the amount of temperature fluctuation. If the customer has any questions regarding the use of Silica Products in a particular application, please contact TEXSil® and we will provide a sample of the Silica Products for testing. This product is not warranted against injuries or damages of any kind caused by uses for which this product was not designed, intended or tested byTEXSil®.

*Welding Curtain is a heat resistant fabric designed to be placed directly in the vicinity of a hot work operation. Welding curtains are intended for use in vertical applications with light to moderate exposures such as that resulting from chipping, grinding, heat treating, sand blasting and light horizontal welding. They are designed to prevent sparks from escaping a confined area.
